Hey friends! If you’ve been watching our Yeti de Sangre reels, you already know I’ve gone deep down the rabbit hole of AI storytelling. I’m turning my days in Westcliffe into a running adventure tale I can someday pass down to my grandkids. And if you know me, you already know the chapters will start at the coffee counter and donut shop.
A lot of folks ask: How do you get AI characters to feel consistent and not like a slot machine spitting out random versions?
Here’s the quick (and hopefully helpful) rundown if you are ready to chase the AI future.
Step 1: Build Your Character Bible
Using ChatGPT for character development is like having a never-ending conversation with your own studio writer. I start with long, detailed descriptions and tweak until the look, voice, and quirks feel right.
➡️ Pro tip: Age matters. A 25-year-old AI cowboy and a 55-year-old AI cowboy will not sound the same. Lock that down early. Or your character's voice will go wacho off track!
Once the design is dialed in, I ask ChatGPT to create a Character Bible. This document becomes the playbook for every scene—keeping tone, appearance, and personality consistent (well, as consistent as AI can be for now).
Step 2: Think Hollywood, Not Just AI
Every good scene—whether it’s Tarantino or Pixar—rests on five pillars:
Character
Location
Action
Lighting
Tone
If AI is your “crew,” you still need to direct. That means breaking each clip into those five elements, then feeding them in one by one. I've learned more about the language of Hollywood set design in the last 4 days than I have in the last 40 years!
Step 3: Don’t Take the First Draft
AI will spit out something every time. But here’s the truth: about half of what I generate gets tossed.
👉 Retweets, retries, and command edits are the grind. The magic comes after 50% of the experiments fail.
Step 4: Bring It All Together with VEO & Flow
Once the bones of the reel are ready:
VEO handles text-to-video with synced dialogue and cinematic polish.
Flow (Google’s scene builder) pulls it all together—snappy cuts, lighting, transitions.
Each clip is max 8 seconds—short, shareable, and perfect for Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, or TikTok. 3-4 clips make a 30-second reel. Perfecto!
The Power of AI in Storytelling
AI storytelling is not just a trend; it's a powerful tool. It allows us to create engaging narratives quickly. With the right approach, we can craft stories that resonate with audiences.
Imagine having a character that evolves over time. This character can interact with your audience, making them feel part of the journey. It’s about building connections.
Want Your Own AI Bot or Reel?
I’m not just doing this for Yeti fun (though that’s been a blast). Businesses can use this same process to:
Build a brand mascot or AI “spokesperson”
Create short, repeatable content
Stand out online without breaking the bank
If that sounds interesting, let’s talk. I’ve burned through the trial-and-error so you don’t have to.
Stay curious, stay creative!
