If you can hear a banjo roll echoing off the Sangres, you’ve found the right place. High Mountain Hay Fever Bluegrass Festival is back turning our little 81252 into a toe-tappin’, fiddle-sawin’ wonderland.
📍 Festival Grounds
Bluff & Summit Park – 110 S Adams Blvd, Westcliffe, CO 81252 (look for the yellow-and-white tents perched on the bluff).
Why Hay Fever Matters
Born in 2003 as a fundraiser dreamed up by local pickers and ranchers.
$900,000+ donated to Custer County charities since Day 1.
Capped attendance keeps it intimate—every seat feels front-row.
Sunset views of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains provide Mother Nature’s stage lighting.
High Altitude Tips
Altitude pickin’—stay hydrated; beer counts after sunset.
Park in town and walk up the bluff; it’s a 5-minute stretch with million-dollar views.
Bring a low-back chair and a “Bluff blanket” for chilly evenings.
Wander Main Street between sets—cafés, galleries, and that famous dark-sky vibe.
Getting Tickets
At-gate sales are limited; grab yours online before heading up: https://highmountainhayfever.org
See You on the Bluff
From dryland ranchers to city slickers hunting fresh air, Hay Fever proves bluegrass is the universal language of summer. Come for the music, stay for the sunsets, and leave knowing you helped local kids, seniors, and search-and-rescue crews right here in Custer County.
